Mom and I flew out bright and early from San Francisco and got into downtown Seattle around noon. We stayed at the Westin (the room had an amazing view), courtesy of Michael, and spent all day walking around hitting up the sights. Pike’s Place is always super fun and filled with good eats.
Mom was adorable in her ridiculous boots and huge jacket. Thankfully it wasn’t too cold, merely brisk and crisp. She also made me go on the ferris wheel on the pier which literally terrified me.

Our day was full of new sights, delicious tastes, afternoon beer, and awesome mother-daughter time. I don’t think we’ve ever taken a trip like this together and it was wonderful. Only slight sad spot was when I went to go get a crumpet at the shop near the market and they were sold out. It was the third time I’ve tried to eat one of those crumpets and been foiled. >.<
Dinner was at Michael and my perennial favorite Local360 which did not disappoint.

The oysters, mussels, and mac and cheese were especially outstanding. Our lovely night continued with tipsy shopping which led to hilarious purchases. Up next…

P.S. You can see my newly stolen-from-Mom’s-closet velvet dress in the picture above. Love it.
