Wedding – Honeymoon, TBD.

Prepare for a boatload of wedding posts in the next few days.  Michael and I have been busy little bees.

First, the honeymoon.

We thought we were done with honeymoon planning when we booked a 12-day Baltic sea cruise last June.  But a few months after making our reservations, I realized that I actually have to work this summer.  It’s my 2L summer and my internship is important.  Missing close to three weeks in June and July just wasn’t going to work.

So we cancelled the cruise.

I was a little sad until, after an episode of the Kardashians, I decided that we were going to stay in one of those stilt-y little hut houses out on the water in Bora Bora.  Tahiti, here we come.

This lasted for about three months.  Tahiti and Bora Bora were our destinations and Michael booked all the hotels and made sure that the little hut out on the water was ready and waiting for us.  But of course it can’t be that easy right?

We go to book our plane tickets last week and realize that our original plan, to trade in Michael’s bajillion travel miles for first class airfares, had to be scrapped.  Who knew that Virgin America’s partner airline, Hawaiian Airlines, had absolutely no seats for the December-January time frame in which we wanted to go?  Similarly, who knew that of the 15 awesome places Virgin America’s partner airlines fly, like Manila, London, Sydney, etc., only Pago Pago, Japan and South Korea are viable destinations during the time we want to go.

I’m not saying Pago Pago, Japan and South Korea aren’t awesome places, they are and I totally want to visit someday, but they just aren’t the honeymoon destinations I had in mind.  (I’m actually still undecided on Pago Pago – Wikipedia wasn’t very forthcoming about whether this is a good honeymoon location so further research is necessary.)

But basically, we are back at square one.  Honeymoon, TBD.

xoxo,

Jenn

Roadtrip to Canada – Silverton, OR.

Well, I suppose this is the end of our roadtrip.  We are back home in San Francisco, hanging out at my parents for the moment playing with our cats.  We got into Oregon late last night, but I still had enough time to take a long bath and sip some port.  I was determined to enjoy the Victorian bed and breakfast we stayed at and I can’t say enough good things about the Edward Adams House.  Nancy, the innkeeper who also cooked us an amazing breakfast, also said that the house is nominated for the National Registry.

xoxo,

Jenn
