Last night in the Lone Star state.

Such a nostalgic day. Today was the end of my internship with Prudential’s legal department. It may be the last time I ever see the lovely and intelligent people I worked with here. It might even be the last time I’m ever in Dallas. (I fully plan on seeing Austin so it definitely won’t be the last time I’m in Texas.) Could be the last time I ever take the DART bus. Thank goodness, I won’t be missing that experience.I’m currently cleaning, doing laundry, and packing to get ready for my early morning flight tomorrow morning home to San Francisco! I can’t wait to see my fiance and cuddle my kitties. I also can’t wait to be able to walk to all my favorite places. I’m excited for the weather, being able to wear clothes from the rest of my closet, and settling back in.I will miss Texas though. My two-month experience here really has been the best, both in terms of professional development and personal growth. Lots to get back to in San Francisco though. My idyllic summer is coming to an end and an enormous amount of work is waiting for me, not to mention first round interviews next week.

Twisted Root, another Dallas repeat.

I guess I’m just tasting all my favorite Dallas tastes one last time before I head back to San Francisco. Who cares about trying new things when the familiar is proven to be solid? Twisted Root was great the first time around and just as delicious today for a lunch my coworkers treated me to.Again, the bourbon bread and butter pickles are ridiculous. We tried the pina colada pickles too. Not a fan. Tasted like the crispy, perfectly sweet and salty of the bourbon bread and butter pickles, but dunked in Tropicana sunscreen. A Fried Ride with fried green beans? My favorite. House special blackberry root beer? Perfectly refreshing with just a hint of berry. A black bean burger on a gluten-free bun, drizzled with house barbeque sauce, mustard, and ketchup? Done and done.
