Little holiday gift treats.

IMG_6320 IMG_6322Michael brought home a little box of treats yesterday.  One of his coworkers passed them out (thanks Gina!).  I was immediately entranced by the lovely packaging and the beautiful chocolates.

I can safely vouch that the burnt caramel and peppermint marshmallow are fantastic.  But I think my favorite has to be the pistachio cocoa nib buttercrunch.  Unlike toffee or brittle which are hard, potentially deadly to teeth, and get stuck everywhere in my mouth, the buttercrunch is almost crumbly.  Delicious!

What a lovely gift.

Three dozen roses.

Michael sent me flowers yesterday just because he could.  I looked at them all day today and reread his little note.  Put me in such a good mood that I decided to walk the second leg of my commute home and forego the bus.

Since it was only 90 degrees out today, it felt positively comfortable.

Halfway home, I wandered into a thrift store because I love looking through old, vintage furniture pieces.  As soon as I walked in and my eyes adjusted to the dark, I nearly ran out.  Totally an episode of “Hoarders” waiting to happen in there.  There was no aisle.  Only a single narrow and short walkway occupied entirely by the owner with heaped boxes and towering piles to the left and right threatening to collapse on my head.

I threw out a breezy, “Ya’ll have a good one” in my best Texas drawl and out I went.

Walked the last 6 blocks home still thinking of what a sweet man Michael is.

xoxo,

Jenn
