A little nice dinner out at A5A Steak Lounge with the family. My mom is in Taiwan on vacation for the next several weeks and she missed out on a lovely dinner.

My drink, First Glance, was grapefruity and delicious. My brother, Chris, memorized the recipe so he can make a gallon’s worth for his next party. My seabass entree was fabulous, but my dad and Chris complained a little about the toughness of their steaks. Michael and I both agree that the bacon-wrapped scallops were ridiculously good.

A thoroughly Chinese evening.

My brother took us out tonight to celebrate some work-related great news, grandparents included, and we feasted on Chinese food at a restaurant in the Richmond. ”Small” portions for a Chinese restaurant according to my mom, but light on the oil and high in quality and freshness. Yum.

We even taught Michael how to play Maj Jong when we got home. He won so many rounds in the beginning but then I started heating up. Too bad Michael had to call it an early night because we leave for our Christmas/New Year’s trip tomorrow morning at 5:45 a.m.
