It’s time to eat a little more healthy. I am junk and restaurant fooded out and tired of eating so much sugar. I make oatmeal pretty often as a super filling and versatile breakfast dish. Michael loves it too. Probably because we can customize our bowls with whatever we like.
Oatmeal base ideas: make it with water, soy milk, or almond milk (combine a mixture of quick-cooking steel cut, quick-cooking, and regular oats for extra texture – just make sure to adjust the cooking time to the oat that takes the longest to cook)
Add-ins: add banana, kabocha squash, or chia seeds to the oats and liquid
Toppings: peanut or almond butter, poppy seeds, pecans, cinnamon, cranberry sauce or strawberry jam, cottage cheese, avocado, maple syrup – go crazy!
I usually try to get some sort of protein and fat in the toppings because the oatmeal is the carb. Cheers!

Jenn
