Michael’s had the same behemoth of a 42″ television since he was in college back in the mid-2000′s. While top of the line then, it was unwieldy and bulky compared to the modern slim models. Michael has been wanting an upgrade for ages and finally bit the bullet and got a new TV.

We gave the old one to my brother Chris for a housewarming present and were really excited about mounting the new flat-panel one to the wall. I was giddy thinking about all the extra space we’d have. Especially since getting the new TV necessitated the moving around of lots of paintings, furniture, and other little knick-knacks. Everything felt weird and off to me once the old one was gone. Bad feng shui.

Only problem was once Michael tried to mount the TV, he couldn’t find any of the studs. So we had to settle for putting it on a bench for now and moving the bridge painting back. Such a mess. I like my mermaid painting above the bed anyway.
It was a very confusing and disorderly process, but now the new TV is all set up. It looks gorgeous, the picture is very crisp, and there is so much more space in our living room. The cats like it. Miaosie was pretty entranced by the clarity of the new TV. She sat there watching for a while.
