Happy Independence Day!

A big thank you to my love, Michael, for being an Army Ranger and fighting for the American ideals of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.  Thank you to all the other men and women out there who have and are doing the same. Here’s another picture from last night’s festivities at Kaboom Town because I spent all day holed up inside my townhouse napping, relaxing, and working on a bajillion cover letters in preparation for On Campus Interviews (OCI) this fall.

I hope you had a lovely day doing whatever you love to do.

Kaboom Town 4th of July fireworks.

Thank goodness my roommate Caitlyn took me under her wing and introduced me to so many of her friends.  I have fun people to hang out with and do fun things!  We all went to Kaboom Town in the Addison part of Texas to watch the fireworks and eat greasy food tonight in an early celebration of the 4th of July.  According to Caitlyn, Kaboom Town’s fireworks are ranked 5th “Best in the Nation” by Forbes Magazine.Lots of red, white and blue everywhere plus a fried apple pie in my mouth.  I was slightly disappointed.  It was just like an empanada when I was expecting a thick slice of actual pie, but fried. The fireworks were very pretty, but Texas has nothing on Panama’s New Year’s celebration.

It was such a great night and it got even better when we all ended up at Velvet Taco just past midnight.I can’t believe I celebrated the 4th of July watching fireworks in Texas!  What a crazy and unexpected life.

xoxo,

Jenn
