After my Criminal Procedure final yesterday morning, I had to go in for an emergency tooth extraction. Rough week.
But the tooth is out, the swelling and soreness from the infection prior to the extraction is mostly gone, and the tenderness isn’t too bad.
Soft foods. Puddings, juices, and warm (not hot) soups. I made oatmeal and topped it with a sunny-side up egg and half an avocado this morning. I think a nap is in my near future.

I bought frozen raspberries, blueberries, and mango chunks from Trader Joe’s last week anticipating lots of breakfast and snack smoothies with the new protein powder I got. A day after my protein powder arrived, the blender broke.
So now I have a ton of frozen fruit hanging out in the freezer, a tub of pretty tasty vanilla protein powder, and no way to make them into smoothies. I asked my mom whether a food processor would work. She advised me against it.
After getting a large bag of blood oranges from Trader Joe’s this past weekend, I decided enough was enough. Protein powder smoothies might not be in my near future, but fruit salads can be.
Three types of frozen fruit, bananas, and plenty of blood orange segments all sprinkled with hemp seeds for a more complete breakfast. I learned how to “supreme” orange segments from Top Chef by the way. So useful.
