Wish there was an Aldi’s back home.

Aldi, a super cheap grocery store here in Dallas, is amazing.  I got all of the above for about $50 and I splurged on a couple of items I don’t normally buy like night cream for $3.99 and battered fish filets for $2.50.

They don’t have a wide variety of items, but what they do have is pretty good quality and so inexpensive.  It seems as if everything is $1.50.  And they have a great money back guarantee if something you get there isn’t to your liking.  I bought a carton of blueberries a week ago for $1.29 and they tasted super weird – chemically, tangy, and sandy – so I threw them out.  I got my $1.29 back today.  :)

Aldi’s isn’t organic and they don’t carry any frou-frou items like chia seeds or tofu :( but they have enough of my staples for it to be a one-stop shop for me.I’ve realized when I’m not cooking for Michael and it’s just me, I tend to eat whatever the heck I want which equals some pretty random meals.  Today it was a late lunch of cherries (Aldi has some darn good cherries), a toasted battered fish filet, and a microwaved potato covered in guacamole and salsa.  Delicious and fast.  And potatoes were like a giant bag for a dollar so how could I resist.

Can’t believe that I’m going to miss a grocery store when I leave Dallas, but I already know I will.  Nowhere in San Francisco will I be able to find such great deals.

Have a great Monday tomorrow!

xoxo,

Jenn
