Dallas nightlife.

I’ve been in Texas for almost a month, but it’s my first weekend actually spent here in town (the others I was traveling) and my roommate Caitlyn decided it was going to be a party night.  No opposition from me…

Patios are a huge thing for Dallas bars and I feel like each establishment competes to see who has the best patio.  Rightly so since at around 9 p.m., the heat mellows out and it’s just really warm and comfortable outside.  The Katy Trail Icehouse had these giant fans blowing fine mist toward its patrons who were sitting outside to keep everyone cool.  Loved it.  And their “Beer-ritas” were pretty spectacular.Caitlyn and I met up with her friend Daniel who acted as our chaperone and driver.  He was a great tour guide and gave me a talking tour of downtown Dallas, Uptown, and McKinney Street, where all the fun bars are and where people hang out.

After the Katy Trail House was Saint Ann’s, another restaurant/bar with a huge patio area, but more upscale and lounge-able than KTH.  Less bugs.We hit up three more places after Saint Ann’s – yea, we really bar-hopped – but I’m not sure of the names except for the Lemon Bar.  All I know is that we dance partied our night away.I”m glad that I’ve made a couple of friends here and that Dallas has been so welcoming.  Last night was a lot of fun.

Shopping and a pool party are on the agenda today.  Talk later!

xoxo,

Jenn
