I am back in Lima and trying to recover from the caloric devastation I endured on the cruise. 18-ounce steaks, dessert with every meal, and enough fried goodness to last me a year. I would do it again – in a heartbeat.
That just means I have to take it easy for a while and get my workouts in. So I am cutting back on the chow.
I got a workout in today and I had a fruit salad for breakfast and a light meal for lunch. Now for dinner, I splurged a bit.
What did you expect?
Lomo Saltaldo or a maybe Pollo a la Braza. That would be nice but instead dinner is a sad little apple and banana.
If I don’t go out that means I have to make my own meals. Well, I don’t really cook for myself so I can only manage what’s ready and easy to eat. Salads are out of the question – too hard. Hence the fruit.
I am going to stay on my “fruitarian” dinners ’til my Argentina trip where I am going to convert to a “meatarian.”
I am so looking forward to Choripan, an Argentinian treat. The name comes from the ingredients - Chorizo and Pan (Bread). The sausage is hot off the grill, cleaved down the middle, and served on a toasted roll. It is accompanied with a chimichurri sauce.
I can’t wait.
Strength and Honor,
M
