What a day! The Grand Cayman islands are gorgeous. The water here is so clear you can see your reflection on the ocean floor 10 feet deep.
Michael planned a stingray and snorkel excursion for us so we didn’t have much time to shop around. I didn’t really see anything I liked anyway except for a couple of beautiful tie-dyed dresses. There sure are a lot of jewelry stores around though. I tried on a couple of wedding bands to see what would look good with my engagement ring.
Our first stop on the tour was “Stingray City,” a shallow sand bar area with a ton of stingrays that are not shy at all. They must be used to being hand-fed squid. The water was only 3-5 feet deep so we could walk around, feel the stingrays bump into us as they searched for food, and pet their silky smooth/slightly slimy fins. The guides had no trouble catching and holding a stingray for us to pet and take pictures with. The stingrays here don’t shoot barbs so we only had to be careful not to step on any tails. Our second stop had us snorkeling around another slightly deeper area full of tropical colorful fish and coral. It was the best snorkeling I’ve ever experienced. Much better than Key West just because there’s more fish, more variety, and much more activity under the surface of the water. The coral was beautiful.I’m totally pooped from all the swimming around in the ocean. It’s going to be an early night for me. Michael is at the arcade, probably shooting more zombies.xoxo,
