Going to miss home.

I leave for my two-month internship in Dallas, Texas tomorrow morning. Though I’m super excited to experience Texas for the first time and learn some lawyer skills, I’m really going to miss my apartment, my kitties, my friends, and summer in San Francisco.I’ve spent the last few days putting off packing – about to start right now – hanging out with friends, seeing my favorite places, and eating a couple of my favorite foods.I’ve also been watching a ton of Netflix movies. There are only so many good ones that you can play instantly and I’m getting into a couple of the weird shows and obscure movies now.

Last night I took BART to see CalShakes‘ production of The Tempest in Orinda with Amanda because Michael is still in Peru. The Bruns Amphitheater is one of my favorite places, just so beautiful and clean-smelling and fresh since it is open-air, but also intimate. And you can bring snacks in a picnic basket. Even better. It was a lighthearted and funny interpretation of The Tempest, very different from the production I saw in England in 2006 where Patrick Stewart was an amazingly buff Prospero.

It’s been a great last couple of day. I’m recharged and ready to start work which means I have to finally start packing. Have a wonderful weekend!
