Hi guys. I’ve come out the other side. There is light at the end of a very long, mind-draining, face-wrinkling, soul-sucking two semesters of first-year law school. No one’s joking when they say law school is a marathon. There was a significant difference between how I felt during first semester finals and second semester exams. Federal Income Tax was my last final this morning and studying the last couple of days have felt like trying to cram mashed potatoes into an overstuffed cup.
In other words, defeating, impossible, and exhausting.
But, nowhere to go but forward and I have prevailed! I’m still alive and looking forward to more Thai iced tea, gelato, swimsuit shopping, and a big, fat, awesome party tonight at Mr. Smith’s.

Looking forward to Peru in two days, my Prudential internship in Dallas, a Bahamas cruise, and giving those new bandeau bikinis a workout. But first, time for a bit of a brain rest (ie. whiskey on the rocks).
xoxo,
Jenn

/ September 23, 2012Congratulations on completing your first year! I’ve only just applied to my diploma in law, and I’m extremely excited. Although a little apprehensive, hence the research and stumbling across your blog!
I’m sorry to ask, but would you have any tips on how to deal with my first year? It would be much appreciated, as I have no one who can give me the inside scoop!

/ September 24, 2012Hey there! I would suggest researching the type of law you think you might be interested in, figuring out what you would like to do for summer internships and see if you can talk to people who do what you want to do, and getting plenty of rest and having fun before school starts. The first year isn’t that hard, but make sure to get good grades (I should’ve done a little more of that). You’ll learn all you need to know about how to read cases and learn law material in school. Good luck!
