Michael’s been gone for a little over three weeks. In that duration, I have not gotten any groceries. He’s my grocery-buddy. Who else is supposed to help me carry my veggies, snacks, and soy milk home? My mom has been bringing over food, I’ve been eating out a lot, but today, I realized I’ve hit a low.

Chips and salsa have become an entire food group. I eat soup that I made weeks ago and froze for “emergencies.” For every meal (including breakfast). No hesitation before dipping a spoon into my delicious cocoa almond butter jar. By the way, what a weird brand name for chips.
It was time though. Time for me to bite the bullet and go get my own groceries. I was going to walk all the way to Whole Foods, but I hit upon Golden Veggie Market on Polk and California first. Since it was closer than Whole Foods, I stopped there.

Fantastic little market with all the things I needed. I made myself a real lunch for the first time in weeks. Coconut brown rice, fresh veggie stir fry, and a can of smoked tuna. That can of tuna is special. It’s the last can of smoked tuna that Michael and I brought back from Costa Rica. The best tuna ever. We were saving it.
But I ate it today. I ate it all. Sorry Michael. I love you.
xoxo,
Jenn
P.S. I made the worst decision ever to start the first season of “How I Met Your Mother” a couple of days ago on Netflix. This show is the devil. I have my first final in less than 48 hours and all I can do is watch Ted and Robin fail miserably at trying to be in a relationship.
