I’ve seen more friends and attended more events this past week than the past three months combined. Michael’s absence is apparently good for my social life.
My best friend and maid of honor, Kayla, was in town today with her parents (whom I absolutely adore) and came wedding dress shopping with me. I think I’m pretty sure which is “the dress” now. I think Kayla really came to San Francisco to eat though.
We were all starving by the time my bridal appointment was up and hit the town bellies empty.
First, a roast pork bahn mi from Saigon Sandwich. I just wanted the three of them to have a taste.
It was a success. And at $3.50 a pop, probably the tastiest, cheapest sandwich in all of SF. Next up, oysters and boiled shrimp at Red Crawfish. We went a little garlic-crazy in there. Garlic noodles, garlic bread, garlic in the boil sauce, garlic in the Cajun-spiced french fries. Michael is missing out on some lovely garlic breath over here.

Finally, dessert at Smitten. Kayla’s dad, Ken, is really into inventions and machinery and builds his own little models. He was very taken by the liquid nitrogen freezing receptacles. The salted caramel flavor is ridiculously good.
My day of friends, family, and food didn’t end when Kayla had to take off for the airport. My ex-coworker was throwing a Mad Men party and my black sequined minidress was begging to be worn.

I’m exhausted from all the fun. Goodnight!
xoxo,
Jenn
