Happy Hour sushi.

There’s something inherently sneaky about the whole Happy Hour concept.  It’s never quite as cheap as you think it is and you always somehow end up way more toasted than previously planned.  And when you finally leave thinking it’s midnight, it’s actually only 8:30 p.m.  A genius idea really.

Michael and I went back to Sushi Hana this evening to take advantage of their 30% off appetizers and drinks Happy Hour special.  We tried the restaurant for the first time right before the ballet a couple of weeks ago and liked it enough to come back a second time.  I don’t know if it warrants a three-peat though. Not bad sushi, but not anything special though.

I did order a ton of appetizers since they were 30% off though.

The good: the fresh oysters, the seaweed salad, the rolls. The not so good: the veggie tempura was mediocre and the gyoza limp, soggy and gross.

Craving for sushi?  Totally satisfied.

xoxo,

Jenn

  1. Hmm, don’t wanna be a spoilsport, but Mr M needs to work on his chopstick skill-at-arms a bit. And why you not show a pic of your chopstick skills??? Veggie tempura??? What IS a veggie tempura???

    • I like forks. :) And veggie tempura is battered veggie pieces in a really light type of batter that is then deep fried. Kind of like veggie french fries bred with a corn dog. I know, so vague.

      • Forks basically for me too. (But then again, I was thoroughly conditioned by my boarding school, which disallowed the use of ‘non-English cutlery.’) No, I don’t think your description sounds vague at all.
