One of my objectives is to gain international experience, specifically in Latin America. This will help me with my goal of opening a Google office in Costa Rica. Today, I took a giant step in that journey. I was selected for a 3-month rotation in Lima, Peru. The great part is I have the opportunity to visit other offices in the region – that includes Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Columbia. I know I am very lucky to work for Google because of the opportunities to see the world and experience different cultures. Last year, I was able to go to India and even bring Jenn along. Now I get to travel again this year. So exciting!
I am discussing travel dates and objectives with my rotation manager this Friday. I have to find a time that works with Jenn’s schedule because I really want to her to visit me while I am in-country. We can check off another Wonder of the World by visiting Machu Picchu. I also have to plan around a Caribbean cruise for my 30th birthday in June. Not to mention I have a wedding and a bachelor party to go to in May and July respectively.
Q3 would be the best time to travel but that may not be possible. I may have to cut the bachelor party. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that everything will work out.
Strength and Honor,
