We’re staying in a beautiful cabin with a ton of friends. The weather up here was actually almost hot for the majority of today. There’s barely any snow since it hasn’t stormed here for a while, but I still had a great day.

It’s been a long one though. Michael and I hit the slopes on very little sleep after a late, late night of carousing. But after a two-year absence, I am happy to say I can still ski. Michael did pretty well on his board too, only ate it a couple of times. To be fair, it was quite rocky and definitely icy in a lot of parts.

I, of course, didn’t fall at all.
My rationale for choosing trails sometimes depends on who I see on the lifts. If it’s a run rated black diamond or blue square, and there’s a little kid on the lift, you can bet your butt I’ll be on that lift too. If a 6-year-old can get down the mountain, there is no way I’ll be left up on the ridge.

We had to fuel up after all the activity. How good of a workout is skiing? I can’t really tell. I might be sore tomorrow, but that could be from my yoga class yesterday.

It’s been a wonderfully relaxing quick weekend trip, but school work already beckons. I think I’ll do some Criminal reading tonight so I don’t have to do so much tomorrow afternoon when we get back.
On that note, I will leave you with a couple other fun Tahoe sights.

/ February 11, 2012I tried to learn to ski at Squaw Valley during a blizzard. It was miserable so I now stick with snowboarding.
Also, I could be crazy but that cabin looks a lot like the one I stayed at back then, but with a remodel. Must’ve been nearly 10 years ago! Is the picture of the skis on the wall taken from the top of stairs leading to a downstairs with bedrooms? No way it’s the same one, but had to ask.

/ February 12, 2012Oh my gosh! The skis are on the wall that lead upstairs to several bedrooms so probably not the same one. I think they all look the same.
