For what ails you.

Whenever I got sick as a child, my mom would try and make me drink weird Chinese remedies. Most involved ginger. Some involved syrupy black concoctions.

One time, Mumsies boiled ginger in hot water and gave it to me to cure a cough. It was so spicy I nearly choked my eyeballs out. She took a sip, looked at me guiltily, and poured the rest of the pot down the drain.

I kind of love ginger now though. Since I stayed up until 2:30 in the morning writing my memo and had a long day at school, I needed a pick-me-up when I got home at 7:30. I chopped up some fresh ginger and stuck a stick of cinnamon in the tea pot.

I don’t really feel any less tired nor did my “tea” taste very good, but at least I’m more hydrated. Hey, it’s been a long day.

It’s gonna be bedtime here really soon.

xoxo,

Jenn
