Fleet Week 2011.

Tons of people show up each year to watch the air show at Fort Mason during Fleet Week honoring the U.S. Navy and Marines. It’s the centennial this year and I think they put a little extra into the production. The show was really something. Michael and I were in the VIP Flight Deck Club courtesy of Google’s VetNet group.

The hours of practice and danger that go into each trick is staggering – planes are flying within feet of each other in tandem as they do turns, flips, swoops and whatever else. Insane.

The Blue Angels and the other planes that few today were amazing.Fleet Week made me feel so patriotic toward all the men and women serving in the military, both past and present. The pilots we saw today are enormously skilled and really do put their lives on the line every time they fly. The entire Marina Green area was turned into a fair with booths and fun recess-like activities everywhere. I have some big, big news to share tomorrow…Have a great night!
