Michael and I went out to dinner tonight with new friends. Maggi and Igor, an engaged couple from Seattle who are both going to Hastings with me. They are very cool and super fun folks. I think we’re going to like them very much.

We went to Level III at the Marriot (third floor) for drinks and a light dinner. Well Maggi and Igor had already eaten, but Michael and I were starving so we availed ourselves of their Prix-Fixe menu. 3 courses for $39. Not bad.
I had pretty low expectations because we’d never been there before, and it was in a hotel, but I have to say Michael and I were pleasantly surprised. The food was actually pretty good. Definitely better than decent. I’d go back again.

I got lobster bisque, king salmon and we both got the baked apple with peanut butter pudding for dessert. M had the tuna tartar and the steak (obviously).
We headed out to Bourbon and Branch for drinks after, but since we failed to make reservations, we couldn’t get in. A bar down the street, Mr. Lew’s Win-Win bar or something like that, caught our eye. It’s definitely a hole-in-the-wall, but they take their drinks seriously.
Moscow mule for me, old-fashioned’s for the boys, and a whiskey sour for Maggi. All delicious. We might not make it back to Level III, but we will be back to Win-Win.
Here’s for new friends! Cheers!
xoxo,
Jenn
