Roadtripping to Los Angeles.

Yesterday was spent seeing friends all over California.

I left San Francisco at 8:30 a.m., stopped at Santana Row in San Jose to see Christine, an old college roommate.350+ miles and 6 hours later, I was at UCLA’s Santa Monica hospital visiting Allison and her new baby boy Dylan born just before midnight in the last minutes of July 31st!I’d forgotten how beautiful parts of the drive down on I-5 are. And how much I missed Los Angeles. It’s been a long time since I’ve driven down and it feels very much like college to me again. I remember lots of roadtrips back and forth from home and UCLA during vacations and breaks while I was doing my undergrad.

Now, in just a few weeks, grad school beckons. My class schedule for Hastings just came out today. Law school is real!

Anyway, back to baby Dylan. He’s perfect. He looks like a baby, not like the smushed, red, lumpy, meat nugget I expected. Allison, Chi Omega sorority sister and a fellow Bruin, is doing very well and it looks like I’ll be seeing my goddaughter this afternoon. Charli is Allison’s first child and I always imagine a “heart” above the “i” in her name. Maybe it’s just me.I stayed the night over at Kayla’s, another one of my best friends. She’s the one that just got married in Napa a little over a month ago. While Michael and I were in India, she and her HUSBAND were in Bali for their honeymoon so she showed me awesome things that she got.

She gave me this beautiful raw silk scarf she brought back and oohed over the little tea cups I trekked from India. She also stocked her apartment with tons of snacks for me. It’s snack central over here right now.And baked me a cake. A cornmeal blueberry cake. Amazing.

Off to see Charli!

xoxo,

Jenn

P.S. I cannot believe M actually cooked for himself last night and didn’t burn down the kitchen. Who is he?
