Tonight, I had my first event as a member of Google’s Financial Services Management Team. We dined at Foreign Cinema on Mission and 24th street to celebrate another great year for our business. You probably don’t remember, but I have been to this restaurant before with Jenn on one of our date nights. I have a horrible memory when it comes to non-work stuff so I couldn’t remember, for the life of me, what I had last time I was there. Luckily, the blog came to the rescue and I was able to revive lost memories

Turns out, we were in for a treat tonight because the group was seated upstairs in a private room that had the original movie projector. This machine has been decommissioned and is now just a nostalgic heirloom from “the good old days.” We stood around enjoying a few cocktails and soaking in the conversations before taking our seats at the table.
Ever since my parents introduced me to the “Skinny Margarita” I have been ordering them non-stop. Just tequila, club soda, splash of lime juice and topped off with Grand Marnier. It’s supposed to be lighter than the regular version, but when you drink four of them, calorie-negating effects are probably out the door. With my drink in hand, I started perusing the menu. It was personalized for the event which was a nice touch.

I don’t even know what the amuse-bouche was because it was chef’s choice. Either way it was super yummy and I wished I had more than just a bite. For my starter, I ordered their version of a Caesar salad. It was awesome – crisp and refreshing. I really enjoyed the grapefruit, which provided a nice contrast to the sweetness of the Caesar sauce.
For my main course, I chose the fried chicken since I had the beef last time with Jenn. This dish came with great portions and the chicken was most, crispy, and extremely flavorful. The sauce was a sweet sesame-honey contraption that I just lapped off the plate.
To top everything off, I had the angel food cake for dessert. This was definitely the slacker in the group or maybe I was just full and didn’t really enjoy it. Either way, I had a great time and felt awesome that I am now included in the ranks of the management team.
This week, I have the annual sales conference and then I head to India with Jenn!
Strength and Honor,
M
