M:ondays – Homemade Dinner

I left work a little early today in order to process  the paperwork for my visa to India. The sad part is the paperwork required new passport photos, which I was not prepared for. I literally took my hat off, smushed my hair, and gave a little smile. Not my best showing but soon after that things got better.

I received an instant message about a position I was applying for in Google. I was told that I will be formally offered the role as an Industry Analysis Manager for the Financial Services vertical. :)

I headed home after that and reached out to my buddy Sean to see if he wanted to workout. He told me he was in so I got ready for the gym. However, he tossed out a curve ball by suggesting we run a 10K since the weather was  nice. I could not say no after the amount of food I ate this weekend. Let me tell you, the hills in San Francisco are brutal and the run kicked my ass.  But I needed that and it was worth it. Besides I had to burn off some calories because my amazing girlfriend was putting together a feast. After my shower, I walked into the kitchen I was ambushed by a glass of wine and Jenn’s hard work.

Jenn wanted to celebrate my good news and also invite her younger brother over for dinner. She whipped up an amazing mango salsa which had the perfect balance between sweet and heat. She also made my favorite, rice & beans with tortas, which are meat patties infused with maza. For the grand finale she baked home-made corn bread.  I think I am going to keep around for a while. :)

The meal was fabulous, but I stopped after the second full plate.  Only so much I could handle. I wonder what she will make next.  Any suggestions?

Strength and Honor,

M
