Farmer’s Marketless.

I know, M and I have been back in the States a few weeks now. So then, why haven’t we made our way down to the Civic Center Farmer’s Market on Sundays as was our usual routine before Egypt?

Well, a couple of reasons. First, I’ve been rather busy with work which means less time to cook and less need of fresh produce. Second, M has been busy also, hitting the gym, seeing friends and working a lot. Therefore, he needs to be fed less. The final reason is probably the most salient though.

Mumsies has been gifting us with lots of fruits and veggies. We haven’t even really needed to get any groceries (besides butter.) My baking has taken on a life of its own. A batch of cookies every week means a stick of butter gone like that. And somehow, the cookies only really last us until Wednesday or Thursday. I give some away sometimes so I guess that might be the reason. I mean, it’s not like I eat them all myself or anything.

But today, I sat down to a real lunch. I’ve been doing a lot of snacking and it hasn’t done my butt any favors so I’m going to try and healthify it up a little. Go back to Bikram yoga too.

Spicy coconut soup with potatoes and bell peppers. Slices of smoked gouda. Fresh pugliese bread from the bakery. And for dessert, of course an oatmeal cookie from a batch I made yesterday, some pomegranate seeds I slaved out of their fruits today, and a ridiculously crispy and juicy pear from Mumsies herself. She made it safe and sound to Taiwan by the way.

Should be a busy week up ahead. M and I have a play on Thursday!

xoxo,
