Things are slowing up a bit around here. Crazy holiday weekend over, shopping mostly done, we’re winding down. M’s beautiful Christmas tree is semi-decorated and the apartment is semi-clean.

I have a delicious glass of red wine in hand, “Hoarders” on the television, and I think it might be time to talk about where M and I are going for our upcoming trip.

Last year, M and I went to Costa Rica for three weeks. We spent Christmas in San Jose and rang in 2010 on the beaches of Tamarindo partying it up with folks from all over the world. Popping champagne to toast the New Year’s 3,000 miles from home was spectacular. He vowed that he would make it a tradition for us to spend Christmas every year somewhere new.

So, this year, we are going somewhere far, far away. And I am not kidding when I say far.

We are going to Egypt.

We leave in a week.
