Mumsies is a rockstar. Literally. She’s always loved singing and could rock a pretty good “Careless Whisper” whenever she wanted to, but it wasn’t until recently she decided to take her pipes out for a spin.

She’s in a band. My mother fronts a band. With her sister, my aunt, they are a pair of note-belting fools and are lead vocalists for a group called “The People.”

So tonight I’m in San Jose at one of her shows. Awesome.
