What almost did not happen…

I planned a date night for M and I weeks ago. There was a special on the coupon site TownHog and I swooped on two tickets for the SF Symphony. The only problem?

I read the fine print this morning and realized that “Please pick up tickets from the box office before December 8th” did not exactly happen. Today is December 8th. And this morning, I started freaking out because I did not have tickets, I had not called the box office, and I was completely sure that date night was not going to happen due to my incompetence.

My coworker Scot received a few frantic IMs and instead of reassuring me, this was the gist of our conversation:

“I’m freaking out about the symphony, I don’t want to have to call Michael and tell him our date is off because I didn’t read the fine print!

Scot: “Calm down miao!”

“He’ll think I’m stupid and incapable of life.”

Scot: “Well…”

“Totally irrelevant whether or not I am capable of life, he needs to at least think I am.”

Scot: “That is a hard sell.”

Thanks Scot. Thanks a lot for being a true friend.

Regardless, I called the box office, they had my tickets, and date night was on! They were even Orchestra seats. Michael Tilson conducted a performance of Mozart and John Adams. It was amazing. M and I had a terrific time. Davies Hall is beautiful, it never fails to impress. This time, they had Christmas trees everywhere and decorations sponsored by different corporations or groups. Magical.

By the way, my cactus has not germinated. At all.

xoxo,

Jenn
