Wakeboarding in Napa.

I. Am. Beat.

Totally exhausted.

M and I were up at 5 a.m. this morning getting ready to drive up to Napa so we could be up at Lake Berryessa by 10. It was rough. My eyes felt like sandy berries.

But once there, the weather was beautiful, the water refreshingly temperate, and the boys were ready to wakeboard! M’s old roommate and coworker Ryan is from Napa, as is his fiance Chelsea, and they are both great wakeboarders. M, however, has terrible form and shouldn’t even be able to get up on the board, but by sheer size and raw power of his upper chest and arms, manages to pull himself over his board every time.

I, on the other hand, have limp noodles for arms and fell every time I tried except for the first time. And I tried like 25 times. No joke. That’s me above disappearing into a wall of water. My hands, wrists, and arms are completely spent and already ache right now. At least you can’t say I didn’t try right?

Sunburnt, wiped out, and completely done, we had a long and leisurely cocktail/dinner prep afternoon. Dinner was well worth it.

Chelsea and I (mostly Chelsea) set out a burger feast. She made the boys serrano beef patties. I had a Boca burger with all the fixings – mayo, ketchup, honey dijon, tomato, pickle, pepperjack. Amazing. Cheesecake rounded everything out.

I would go into more detail, but I am a tender, bleary, barely awake nugget right now in desperate need of some shut-eye. I am a little afraid of how much pain and soreness I will be in once I wake up tomorrow morning.

Today was wonderful.

Pictures to come tomorrow once WordPress decides to stop taking 3 minutes to load a page. Goodnight!

xoxo, Jenn
