Yes, you can.
Chip is heading back down to San Diego right now, but we had dinner together before he left. He was telling me how much he has been craving a big, juicy, meaty burger all week so I knew exactly where to take him.
He showed up with two friends in tow, Jarvy, Chip’s childhood buddy who is like a brother to me, and Joyce, a girl I have never seen before but went to the same high school as all of us.
M and I have been to Pearl‘s before once where consuming a huge mushroom-smothered veggie burger led me into a fat-induced stupor that lasted for 12 hours.
Today, I enjoyed watching silly Chip and Jarvy bring upon themselves that same miserable fate.
Chip ordered the Phat Bob (what M got last time) but upgraded his to a buffalo patty and got some “springs” on the side – a half-half order of sweet potato fries and onion rings. Cute.
Jarvy got the Spicy Sly which ended up being the juiciest and drippiest burger on the table. I think everyone was jealous.
M’s mini Phat Bob looked alright, but next to Chip’s rhino of a burger, seemed like just a baby.
Joyce took the plunge and got the Nutella milkshake because Yelpers recommended it. I tried a slurp and it was amazing. It tasted like an entire smoothied dessert crepe in a soda cup. And they even have bigger straws because the shake is so thick.
I decided not to get a burger and just stole Jarvy’s garlic fries and Chip’s onion rings. M’s onion rings also got robbed. I love onion rings. When everyone finished and began groaning and holding their bellies, I jumped up lightly from the table and picked up my real dinner from just down the street.
M called Thai Stick for me and ordered a papaya salad to go. All I had to do was pick it up.
I had a yummy, delicious, and really spicy dinner while everyone else cried about how full they were.
Chip declared Pearl’s to be the best burger he ever tasted. Jarvy concurred.
I am just happy Chip got his burger craving filled.
xoxo,
Jenn
