Fast and Furious.

(Tokyo Drift was somehow incredibly entertaining despite the awful acting.)

Today was jam-packed.

After my Kaplan-proctored practice LSAT, yes yours truly may be going to law school next year, M met up with me for lunch.

Except I had already snacked myself into not-hungry mode.

He wanted Mexican and smartphoned it on his Nexus One. Nearby was a restaurant called Tropisueno. Cute.

You order from a large menu tacked onto the wall and they prepare everything right in front of you. It looked decent and if I had not been so full, I would have definitely wanted to try some veggie tacos.

M is pretty particular about Mexican food probably because he grew up eating beans and rice and other Central American fare, but he really liked his super burrito.

Not only was it a foot-long, it was apparently pretty spicy which he loves. (I hate Jarritos with a passion.)

The salsas for sure were spicy, but not flavorful. They tasted flat, as if each was missing a key component that would bring everything together. Plus they were too spicy for me – I like to taste my food, not burn my tongue off.

The late lunch was a mere blip in the radar because right afterward, I headed straight for my goal which was next door to Tropisueno – Beard Papa’s cream puffs.

I know I have said before I hate cream puffs because the custard inside is gross, but for some reason, I was craving a cream puff like mad today.

I took a picture of it with my phone and sent it to Scot just to rub it in his face. He loves cream puffs so much he might as well be one.

M wanted something else for dessert though. He went into a Swiss chocolaterie (is that even a word?) and emerged with a tray that put my sad, solitary cream puff to shame.

I ate my silky, oozing mess in silence watching him sip tea and nibble on his truffles. Then I tried a chocolate. And blech – my cream puff was way better.

I am planning a feast tomorrow for Father’s Day. The family is coming over to my apartment for a nice little party. M and I have spent the last two hours cleaning like maniacs and rearranging furniture. Hopefully everything turns out the way I want it to!

xoxo,

Jenn
