Eating my words.

After ragging on Brown Cow’s yogurts, I was not too keen on trying the last flavor I had waiting for me in the fridge. I ate it more out of obligation than anything else since I had begged M to bring me another snack from Google.

But if the first flavor (Coffee with Chocolate) was only ok, and the second (nonfat Strawberry fruit-on-the-bottom) was stunningly terrible, things did not look good for the nonfat Vanilla.

My expectations of a runny, sour, bland-tasting yogurt flew out the door however, when I peeled back the top and inhaled the most delicious, homey, dessert-like scent.

They must use some special kind of vanilla because it smelled like cookies, ice cream, and all kinds of goodies.

All I have to say is I was wrong about Brown Cow. It is exactly what everyone says it is. Their Vanilla has definitely become my favorite flavored yogurt. Activia, of which I still have 3 cups left, is just not cutting it anymore.

I had my amazing cup of yogurt with some peanut butter. Anyone else love the super hard, dry and tacky peanut butter that gets stuck to the bottom of the jar?

It is my favorite.

And paired with the creamy, slightly sweet dessert flavor of the yogurt, it tasted like a white chocolate Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup in my mouth. Not sure if those actually exist, but if they do, a healthier replica is easy to create and just as good.

I will be traveling to Los Angeles and San Diego this weekend so instead of blogging about my on-the-road eats while still in Southern California, I have a special treat lined up.

The boyfriend will be blogging in my absence.

I have no idea what M will write about and am a little afraid he is going to revert to Carl’s Jr. burgers or slabs of ribs while I am gone.

We shall see!

Thrice is just as nice.

Today was my third time lunching at Google. I heart Google.

This is the view from the cafeteria.

I was really craving sushi, especially when it is free, so I focused mostly on that.

Front and center is raw tuna. Behind it are some slices of octopus. And clockwise around it is seaweed salad, two pieces of what they called a “Hot Mess” roll, a piece of halibut, asparagus, ratatouille, edamame and green pea salad, and two pieces of beet.

The “Hot Mess” baked roll had “parmesan, tempura crunchies, ahi tuna, crab, avocado, rice, nori, mirin, vinegar, cucumber, sriracha, mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, unagi sauce.” I am not familiar with “tempura crunchies” but they were awesome.

The only thing I did not finish were the chewy octopi.

On the side was Carrot Beer soup. Thick, creamy and undercut by a sharp, yeasty, beer flavor. Totally amazing on the first few bites, but toward the end, the sour tang was overwhelming and I had to put my spoon down.

But in the back, I had two shots waiting. On the left – blackberry, ginger, and asian pear. On the right was the most deliciously crisp and refreshing juice ever – mango, pineapple, and raspberry. I might have snuck another shot while M was getting dessert.

What a dessert it was. You know how much I love cupcakes.

This was a chocolate cupcake with marshmallow topping that was  torched until caramelized. You can see how parts of the wax paper were burnt off.

If there is anything I love more than cupcakes, it is chocolate-covered marshmallows on a stick. And this was like both, in one.

I dream about the next Google luncheon. M, can I come again? Monday? Or Tuesday? Or how about every day?

xoxo,

Jenn
